Themes Can Bring a Corporate Message to Life!

16 04 2015

Have you ever walked into your corporate event or sales kick-off and wondered what the theme was supposed to be?  There really is an art to creating a theme to bring or drive the message home. As an event planner, I have spent years designing and creating themes for clients. Many times a client has his or her own ideas, but it is our job to refine and direct that idea! When a theme is clearly defined,  your attendees or guests can get a clearer sense of what is behind the program with an immediate sense of what the message is.

You can use a tag line-or develop a slogan just for that particular event that relates directly to the overall company goal. You can also incorporate product launches or sales incentives into the theme.

Make sure the entire room has a coherent theme-and do not forget the tables! They should be in synch with the theme as well. In fact, perfectly designed tables can clearly define and further enhance the theme.

Whatever it may be, be certain you are clear on what you are trying to achieve-and  remember, professional planners should be able to do this fast and efficiently to give the room one coherent look and feel! Like this backdrop-no doubt what the theme is, right?

A Band Story to Tell!

5 06 2013

Kaleidoscope-new

Of course I have hundreds of stories….but this just happened. How many times have I said that you must use an Agency with a track record? In the long run, using a professional agency will save you time and money-and anguish! This is what Davis Event Group does every day. We are not at home watching TFV and serving you in between. We are here every day to help you get the best in entertainment and decor for your event!

I just got an email that I could not believe! A client who has contracted one of our bands said:

“The contract does not explicitly address the provision of equipment – speakers, cables, amplifiers, microphones, etc. It may be safe to assume the band will provide whatever it needs to put on a show, but we heard a story recently about a client that booked a band and found out the week of their event they needed to provide (rent) all of those things.”

I was appalled that a band would do that! Of course all of our bands carry all equipment needed to do the job. If you want that in the contract, we are happy to include it…but…just another reason to use a professional agency with a good track record in the industry! http://www.daviseventgroup.com/content/why-should-i-use-professional-agency

Watch out for that Summer Heat!

25 06 2012

Still feeling tired after your company picnic? It may be dehydration. If you are feeling confused,  light-headed, and/or fatigued, you are on your way to trouble!  Here are some important tips to help you stay healthy before, during and after the event:

  • Drink often and drink regularly. Do not rely on thirst! By the time you are feeling thirsty, there is already a significant fluid deficit.
  • Don’t drink liquids that contain alcohol or large amounts of sugar–these actually cause you to lose more body fluid. Also, avoid very cold drinks, because they can cause stomach cramps.
  • Drink more than just water. Replacing the fluid alone (with just water) can lead to electrolyte imbalances. Try drinks that will replenish those like Gatorade, Powerade or Vitamin Waters.
  • Wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.
  • Protect yourself from the sun by wearing a wide-brimmed hat (also keeps you cooler) and sunglasses and by putting on sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher (the most effective products say “broad spectrum” or “UVA/UVB protection” on their labels).

This is not something to mess with! It is not just feeling “thirsty”.  These deficiencies can be life-threatening, so take care out there!
